The Evergreens Club was first established in 1986 by Kathleen Martin and it is now in its twenty ninth year. They have been meeting on Wednesdays afternoons between 2.30pm and 4.30pm in Corduff Resource Centre. Every week this group of Everlasting Teenagers meet for a cup of tea, a chat and a game of bingo. At present they are learning line dancing and chair exercises to keep their bodies as young & healthy as their minds!!! Their many activities over the years have been wide ranging and their social activities hold no bounds with bridge nights, trips to theatres & cinema, outings to museums & art exhibitions, Xmas Pantos and Week long holidays to Kerdiffstown to name but a few. Cross border trips to East and West Belfast was such a success, that the Evergreens invited their hosts down to Dublin. All were amazed at the similarities of life north or south of the border.
Every year the Evergreens with the help of the Corduff Resource Centre organise a party for all senior citizens in the Blanchardstown Area. The theme is changed every year and so far they have had an Easter Bonnet Party, a Fancy Dress Party and a Black n’ White Ball! Present membership is 23 members with the door always open to newcomers so if you are in the region of 50 plus we would be delighted to have you on board….
